5 It works
Posted by B Gates on 2022 Jun 14th
I have a two decade old brother b/w laser printer and a two year old HP color inkjet. The HP died with a malfunctioning printhead (very common) and the older brother printer was do a point where it needed replacement. Still functions well but no duplex print and not a multifunction. This one gives me everything...well except color and I've yet to find a color inkjet or laser that will stand the test of time. I'm a retired school district IT manager and color printing was a nemesis for close to 3 decades and from what I hear from my old assistant (now in charge) still is. Even if you can keep one printing, the cost is almost always ten times the cost of a monochrome printer. I have to chuckle at being asked to rate tech support. My only contact with Brother has been to periodically update drivers and the new printer does that for me. I guess not having to contact tech support is a good reason to give them the full 5 stars. Oh, sleep mode, something that I worried a bit about reading reviews has not been a problem. I had one case after an extended power outage where the next time I went to print failed. But, a press of the power button and I was back in action and that's only happened one time in 3 months....I can deal with that. It's been six months now. The one fail to print after going into sleep mode has been the only one. Like my old Brother printer, it just keeps printing. Unlike the old one, this one has handled our rural electrical system and it is holding on to its network address after power outages. I still have the decade old printer functioning as a back up but I figure that it will stored at some point or donated.

5 Great printer!
Posted by Jordan Kirby Litten on 2022 Jun 14th
First of all, I wanted to say that I did read numerous bad reviews on this printer but I figured I'd take a chance on it despite that. Setup was VERY easy. I placed the toner inside with no issues at all. Plugged in the printer and got connected to WiFi within a minute. Next, I registered the printer through Brother online easily as well. I have now printed almost 200 pages with ease. Print quality is what I expected, perfect! I was looking into a laser printer because we all know that it can very costly replacing regular ink versus toner constantly and I'm SO glad I took that chance and went with this printer. Price point is basically what you'd expect for a laser printer and a lovely feature from Brother, is that you can easily set it up through Brother Refresh when you register your printer and it'll tell Brother when you're low on toner and have it automatically shipped to you with no shipping fees! 10/10 in my opinion!

5 Brother absolutely shames HP and others
Posted by EmbeddedFlyer on 2022 Jun 14th
If you want a laser printer and multi function device that Just Works, buy a Brother. If you want a buggy difficult to ever make work correctly nightmare with overpriced supplies, buy a Hewlett Packard printer. The Brother MFCL2750DW couldn't be easier to set up, works perfectly with Windows, MacOS, and Linux, and even duplexes printing on both sides. It's quick to wake up from sleep and print a single page. And it's really fast at churning out multi page documents. The print quality is excellent and the printer drivers offer a nice variety of options including a toner saving mode. You can get a few different toner cartridges with various capacities from Brother at reasonable prices or much cheaper third party cartridges. This printer is hugely cheaper to run than any inkjet and there's nothing to clog. It's also much faster than any inkjet. And it's Energy Star rated and consumes almost zero power when it's sleeping. HP only wishes they made a multi function printer this good.

5 Can't say enough good about Brother printers
Posted by Nugg on 2022 Jun 14th
This is my second Brother laser printer of this model series and type. The first one lasted about 10 years and from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I can't say enough good about how well they work. I may have to run tech support the first time someone goes to print or scan but after that they just work. They don't complain about 3rd party cartridges. The firmware gets updated on a regular basis. The drivers and apps aren't too annoying (except for the Android app that wants me to set up re-occurring cartridge replacements using a full screen add). I can print from my phone using the network and NFC easily. Overall it's a simple, low maintenance printer that I'm glad to own. You can print and scan from Windows 10 without having to download the drivers from Brother if you don't want to, it will find the drivers and print on its own after you add it as a network printer. I've run both of mine as network printers using wi-fi and haven't had any issues with them connecting or staying connected. They don't have any issues with my mesh network. Love it.

5 The perfect home office system
Posted by Jadders on 2022 Jun 14th
Recently my Canon mx892 just died, and I decided to finally get away from ink and go laser for the improved costs and reliability. Ink costs about 20 cents per page and ink expires about 9 months once opened, but monochrome laser is 7 cents/page and the toner doesn't really expire. Back to the printer, let me cover the basics: Pros: * It's super fast printing, with duplex multi-sided * The ADF scanner is also lightning fast, scanning both sides at once (single-pass) * Scan to "Searchable PDF" which also allows you to copy-paste fields from out of the PDF. (great OCR abilities) * Scan to Google-Drive and Evernote makes life so much easier! * The touchscreen makes user interaction easier * Didn't need to install any special software for Windows 10 to be able to print/scan over WIFI * Has far more on-board memory than the MFCL2740DW, which should fix some of the previous complaints about slowing down when scanning a huge multi-page job. Cons: * It's not any larger than the Canon mx-892 except that it's much taller by 5-6 inches * The touchscreen UI is a little disorganized: lots of scrolling/paging to get to the right options * The envelope printing is a bit of a pain: single feed only and requires opening the special back panel behind the printer. Overall, this is a perfect home office productivity machine and worth the investment to me. Special note: the person that left a one-star because it's not color confuses me... how did he do all the research to find this gem of a printer and not read the title?

5 Was hesitant to buy but glad I did
Posted by L. Boyd on 2022 Jun 14th
I was extremely hesitant to buy this printer given some of the reviews posted. But I needed to replace an HP Ink Jet that was literally sucking ink left and right. This printer was priced at a reasonable price point and had the features I needed. When I look back over the past year and analyzed my printing, first, it wasn't that much. Second, I rarely if ever need to print color so it was time to move to a laser printer. I also needed scan and copy capabilities. This arrived earlier than expected. Opened the box, plugged it in, capture my Wi-Fi and off I went. Absolutely no issues with the printer finding my Wi-Fi and more importantly staying connected. I scanned a bunch of docs and experienced no issues. Also copied one thing just to test out the copy functionality and it worked flawlessly. I am sorry to see that others had bad experiences with this printer, but a couple of hours in - so far, so good. I am hopeful that I will get good use out of this printer. It was the right price with the right features. I can't speak to Tech Support since I have not had to employ that (my hope is I never have to talk to Tech Support). If at some later time I do - I will update this review. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.

5 Absolutely Fantastic
Posted by K Rose on 2022 Jun 14th
Fantastic printer for home office. Have been using it during college (8+ months) printing notes, power points, papers, etc. and still on the original toner (although it’s been “low” for a couple weeks now). Go through the settings and turn off eco mode to print over WiFi even when asleep (pc or phone) and change the setting to print even with low toner. For a while, the printer would still refuse to print even if eco mode was off causing me to have to manually wake it, but it seems a firmware update has fixed it and I’ve not had issues since. The feeder scanner is a little skewed, so if you want perfectly aligned copies, you have to use the scanner bed. Have printed 18lbs paper all the way to cardstock and haven’t had a single jam. There’s a cool feature in the “Apps” to scan documents to a pdf and then upload them temporarily to the brother website. It then displays a QR code to download the pdf and a 4 digit pin (provided on the lcd screen) is required to view it. The amount of money saved from not having to buy ink has totaled to the cost of the printer thus far (on the original toner, no less!). I recently purchased a TN760 as a replacement but my prints have yet to fade.

5 The last printer you’ll buy for a long time.
Posted by Cj Johnson on 2022 Jun 14th
After years of buying ink jet printers every year or two, I decided to switch to laser. I would’ve saved myself a lot of trouble and support calls if I had made this decision sooner. Typical installation, even if you’re not a techie. Connect it to your WiFi and the power cable will be the only cable. Can print to it from your phone, tablet laptop. Duplex printing and SCANNING. No more flipping pages. I don't keep paper anymore as all bills are scanned to pdf. The footprint is about the same of my old HP Deskjets but it is quite a bit taller. Make sure you have the space for it. It’s quiet and fast. The entire family loves it, especially the scan to email feature. Yes you can scan a document and email it. You can setup shortcuts to make jobs faster and easier. I setup shortcuts for my Mother and sisters to scan to PDF and scan to email. It’s not a color printer but no one misses it. We have 2 color inkjets and no one uses them anymore. It has security built in but you have to turn them on. If you print a lot (home office) then buy the larger toner.

5 Easy Setup, Nice Feature Set for Pricepoint
Posted by Dean E. Weimer on 2022 Jun 14th
I did a lot of searching through different Products and Reviews before deciding on this All in One Printer Scanner. I was tired of the home inkjet all in ones failing, seemingly right after I bought new Ink, and of course the models available after they die use a different ink cartridge. I wanted a dual sided scanner for scanning in Bills, Financial Statements, and other documents. This models use of a second scanner to scan both sides at once should hopefully be a good solution compared to pulling the page back through a second time. Its much faster scanning this way for large double sided documents. The ADF scanner function is surprising loud, its not ridiculous, just not sure why its as loud as it is. The Scanner settings leave a lot to be desired for Photo's but my primary use is for documents. It comes with a document management software that includes a PDF reader that allows you to delete and insert pages so you can re-scan a single bad page instead of re-scanning an entire document if a page doesn't scan clearly the first time. Huge bonus that will save some usage on the scanner and help it last longer. As for printing, it wakes up fast, and prints are clear, even with the ECO mode enabled. The small toner cost though I haven't purchased one yet is comparable to replacing the ink cartridges in an Ink Jet and are listed to provide an average of 1200 pages. So much cheaper per page. Hopefully I don't have to come back and edit this review and down vote for durability, but in the short period of time I have had it it seams well built and more solid than previous Ink Jets I have had, though Comparing an InkJet to a LaserJet is not really a fair comparison.
