They both worked great but we wanted wireless connectivity and double sided printing. My wife works upstairs and I work downstairs in our home offices, so we eliminated the two older printers with this MFC-L2710DW wireless, double-sided printer/scanner, placing it in a discreet central location where both of us have easy access. Couldn't be happier, simple set-up (about 15 minutes), great printing and scanning capabilities. Highly recommend. 5 Excellent Brother Printet Posted by Rolfster on 2022 Jun 13th This Brother mono printer replaces the Brother colour printer that I bought 15 years ago. Therefore it was easy to set up and connect to my two iMac’s. I connected one computer using an Ethernet Cable and the other using WiFi. No problem. Both computers work just fine. And the cost to print per page will be reduced because this printer will print on both sides of the paper. Brother manufactures excellent products. I had no problems for the past 15 years using my old one but the cost to replace four toner cartridges was outrageously expensive. 5 Amazing printer Posted by Sarah Beletic on 2022 Jun 13th Love this printer. I bought one for my mother-in-law to replace her ink jet (cartridges drying out, expensive, colour not needed). She has only an iPad, so AirPrint needed. I immediately bought one for our home to replace our basic 8 year old Brother laser printer which has always been reliable and inexpensive for toner. We hardwired it our MAC for full function. We do not have a home phone line, so do not use the fax option. But from iPhones and iPads, works wonderful for us Apple people. So nice to be able to photocopy, and scan/print from any device. Amazing for the price even though it has more features than we need, can’t find a simpler model for a lower price. And much easier setup for wireless than my older Brother printer, that did not have AirPrint. Toner runs same minimal cost as my old one, which for our at home printing lasted over a year. Fyi you can buy generic toner cartridges with no chip for a third of an aem cartridge..
