Small footprint in my bedroom/office: easy set-up!

Posted by Dennis on 2022 Jun 13th

Just to say that I love the white and smaller footprint in my "bedroom" office, but more importantly, the set-up was efficient and without a glitch, in about ten minutes. I used my HP Stream laptop with Windows 10 and the HP Smart app easily downloaded. Prompts were user-friendly . . . that is, the interface designers "thought" like my ordinary user mind thinks

    So Easy

    Posted by J. N. Pimental on 2022 Jun 13th

Long ago I had an all-in-one printer which I loved that connected to a landline for faxing. Have printers come a long way! It took me literally 30 minutes to set this one up, 15 of them trying to find my wifi password. The set-up was simple; read the directions given and follow them completely. Try to remember which way you pulled out the ink cartridge. Hook to wifi Get your computer/phone hooked to the printer. Download the HP app. Luckily, I already had an account from my last printer. I have already faxed 2 sets of documents successfully and quickly. You can scan them in or take a photograph with your iPhone and use those pictures. One last hint: To start faxing on the app, click on the little cogwheel in the lower right corner of the app or you will get frustrated trying to find the fax. Also, if you're sending more than one photo, make sure to click the add (plus key) at the top.

Prints from Chromebook without Google Cloud Print. But large power draw.

    Posted by D. B. on 2022 Jun 13th

I am happy to report that this printer works without having to use Google Cloud Print. When I plugged it in, it went through some kind of auto-setup. At first it needed to be connected via both USB cable and Wifi, but eventually I got it to print via USB only. HP has a helpful web site which Amazon will not let me link to, but you can probably find it if you search on "HP Printers - Printing with Wi-Fi Direct This document is for HP printers with Wi-Fi Direct wireless printing." Basically you have the printer print out a report, then get the printer's IP address from this report, then enter this IP address into your computer so it can address the printer. Good print quality, good price, compact size, and presumably low operating costs. I did find that the power draw is huge. It's rated at 200w (the heater for the toner I imagine) but it over loaded a 1000w inverter as well as a 1000w generator. I have to use my larger 4000w generator.

Easy to setup. Don't listen to the computer illiterate in the comments!!

Posted by Jason on 2022 Jun 13th

Small and perfect. It's easy to setup too. You'll read some headlines that it's difficult to setup, it's not. Follow the easy instructions on the easy steps. Go to the website and it will direct you to download the HP app. After that it's clicking to printing in minutes. Just quick tip, if you use dark mode on websites you want print, take it off so the printing is a lot more clear. Remember you're not using color(blue, red, green), only black. I think the free 6 month toner/ink program is nice. I will probably unenroll depending how much I actually use this printer. I'm very happy. I will write back if I can remember to do a 3 month follow-up.

    WOW & OMG!!

    Posted by Lov3lyGracie on 2022 Jun 13th

Amazon has been great with me LOL..They out did themselves once again. The items were scheduled to deliver today (the 17th) but these were delivered yesterday. which very cool for a loyal customer like me LOL.. Now the product... it is easy to set up like from taking out of the box to printing process, it takes me 7 minutes. It could have been done sooner but I had to look for my wifi password coz I recently changed my router to a new one and it has a three mile long password hehehehe. I tested my first printing via my iPhone 12 P M I have one doc that needed to print. It worked like a charm but it came out a tad unclear but I suspected it was a very first paper to print so, I ain't worried. All in all I am happy with this purchase. However, I will update my review if there is something happen along the way. I don't print much though by then the returning window may be closed. Fingers are crosse as I really like it and want to keep it. The package came well packed & HP did great with an image showing how to remove the printer off of the box. By the way, this model only print black though. Edit: It has been about five months since I purchased this printer. It is still working just fine, and I’ve never had any issue with it. It connects to the wi go very fast too. I have been printing via my MacBook, work laptop, and my iPhone with no issues. Hopefully it will last a long time.

    Compact and fast

    Posted by 3loops on 2022 Jun 13th

I gave up on color ink printers after having three different ones over the years mainly because the ink was always drying up and the carriages are expensive. I don't really need color and if I do then I can get photos ordered and ready in an hour at CVS or Walgreens. Every thing else I print are forms and letters. Also, I really don't need a scanner since my iPhone scans documents well enough for "government work". So, this small toner printer is perfect for everyday use and I can't get over how fast the copies pop out! My first test was printing my tax return which took forever on my old printer, but zipped out in no time on this little HP. The print quality is 10x better than my old copier - extremely sharp and crisp. The wifi operation has been flawless. I have not used tech support, but their online setup instructions were easy to follow and I had zero problems. This has been a great switch from the ridiculous ink printers for me so far.

Cute little printer, Works like a charm

Posted by David C. Johnson on 2022 Jun 13th

I bought this printer a week or so after it was released from HP and took a chance. I couldn't be happier with the printer, after using it for several months! I bought this one specifically because I have my printer in one of my kitchen cabinets (couldn't find a better spot for it) and this little thing fits perfectly and the Wi-fi connection is flawless. It's black and white only, of course, but the print speed is great, the toner isn't ridiculously expensive, and it's quiet and convenient. Set up is incredibly easy over WPS (push button) or through and HTTP page through the printer's own wifi card. Just read the instructions and it all makes sense. Using HP Printer service plugin on my android phone, I can also print right from my phone over the network. I guess I wouldn't buy it as an office printer because it seems designed for light duty, but perfect for home.

Wireless, small and prints only black.

Posted by Stormy on 2022 Jun 13th

So far so good. It is fast and prints only black which is what I wanted. It’s small and takes up very little space. I wish Amazon would check the reviews because one review of this product said it printed color. Plus the description did not really point out it was wireless. I’m not surprised because a lot of product details aren’t complete or misleading. But still I would recommend this nice laser printer that is wireless and prints only black.

    PERFECTION

    Posted by Kel_Kemosabe on 2022 Jun 13th

I bought this to replace my ink based printer for cost reasons I don't typically print in color just standard b&w documents for work or school. my old printer was a photo quality epson with ink and like almost all color printers wouldn't work unless all cartridges were installed which for my needs made my old printer useless... the toner cartridge for this printer is tiny and I may add an update on its lifespan based on my print load which toner for this printer is just below $50 but it beats buying 6 ink cartridges and only using 1 or 2 and having the others expire. another bonus my house is small and I have 2 toddlers who like to push buttons. my old printer had to be put on it's own table due to its size and the kids kept turning it off and on and pulling the paper tray out. this later printer fits perfectly on my kitchen counter the slot of the paper folds down and adjusts to multiple paper sizes and the buttons are discreet enough that they don't draw the unwarranted touch of a toddler

Excellent printer and very easy to set up.

Posted by Holden Caulfield on 2022 Jun 13th

This is an excellent, easy to set up, and small printer. I sell on ebay and Etsy and use this for packing slips and shipping labels so the fact that it prints only black wasn't an issue. Printing from the phone is easy, but not a big deal to me. But what I really like about the printer is you can register with Google Cloud Print allowing you to print from any pc or phone from anywhere, even thousands of miles away. I do not understand why some reviews mention a difficult set up or not being able to print from their computer. This was by far the easiest wireless set up I've ever done (previous wireless printers were all Canon). I used HP's Android app to initially set up the printer, and I downloaded the Windows driver software from HP, installed it, and my computer had no problem recognizing the printer and printing to it. And my computer isn't a new one.....a 5 year old Toshiba laptop running Windows 8.1. I did not use any CD that came with the printer...I think it's quicker and easier to just download from HP. The computer does come with a USB cable to connect physically with a computer. Also, if you don't have a wireless router you can still connect wirelessly using Wi-Fi Direct (I haven't tried that yet). After I bought this, but before I received it, I read an online review from some tech website which was overall a very good review, the only flaw they saw was that "the text was a little too light and pale". That made be a little nervous because of all the dark black in the shipping labels I print, but I cannot tell the difference between these and ones I used to print on an inkjet. My reason for buying this was to save on ink cartridges; I was going through at least 1 black cartridge a month at $28 each. I thought about the Epsons with refillable ink tanks, but I didn't like some things about those models, so I decided to go with this. The toner cartridge yields 1,000 pages vs 300 pages for a Canon 240XL ink cartridge, AND the HP toner can be bought online for only $5 more than I was paying for the Canon ink.
