Best and most efficient workout in 40/45 minuets!

Posted by Zeus on 2020 Dec 9th

I finished P90X and was in the middle of the second round when I got tired of doing exercises I don't really like (I don't like doing Yoga and Cardio together. I love Yoga and I like the Cardio routine just not together). Also did not really like having to plan for 60 or 90 minuets of workout and then only netting 300s for calories burned. But this is awesome! It's 40-45 minuets of fast pace high intensity burn! You just keep moving. There's no time to think about it. I'm netting 400-500 calories burned in less time! I read the other reviews about how Tony is not as animated in this series and the complaint of how the same people were used for all the videos but I found it worked better. The pace is soo fast you hardly even look at the TV or hear what is being said because your so concentrated on doing the most in the short amount of time. Highly recommend this series!

Good Way To Mix It Up

Posted by Kyle R. Johnson on 2020 Dec 9th

I completed 1 round of P90X and by the end it was getting a little bit repetitive so I decided to pick up P90X+ so I could mix it up a little bit. The package includes a 90 day workout program which is based on using these 5 workouts with a few of the originals thrown in that I used for 30 days before it also got a little bit too repetitive for me. There's also a P90X/P90X+ hybrid schedule on the Team Beachbody website that you can use which incorporates more of the original disks. All of the workouts are very fast paced, so they all kind of feel like a cardio workout. Steve Edwards (the Beachbody guy that designs most of these workouts) said that it was built with the goal of "ripping you up" not gaining mass, so if that's what you're looking for this might be a good way to go. That said, they are a bit short (~40 min each) so you may want to add some other calorie burning activities to your day (running, walking, extra pushups or pullups, or maybe a disk or two of 10 Minute Trainer) if you really want to get shredded. And, of course, diet is also a huge factor as well. My results were good but not that spectacular from a weight/fat standpoint: I'm a 25 year old guy and I went from ~144 lbs and 11.1% body fat to ~142 lbs and 10.8% body fat in the 30 days I used the P90X+ program. The thing that was REALLY awesome about these workouts is that there are a lot of opportunities to work on your pullups. I went from being able to do 2 100% unassisted pullups to being able to do 4 in 30 days, which is not too shabby. I'm now doing a program that is very similar to the original schedule but I still use the abs/core disk from p90X+ regularly and I also throw in the interval and kenpo disks occasionally as well. It's difficult for me to fit the other two in just because of my goals, but they are also good workouts.
